A Poem for My Breastfed Toddler

A Poem for My Breastfed Toddler & WBW Giveaway!

Happy World Breastfeeding Week 2017! Last year I celebrated My very first Global Big Latch On. It was so exciting to take part in that, and I can’t wait to do it again this year. You can find your local event by clicking here! More than that, WBW is a time where we get together to help normalize breastfeeding. You can make a pledge by clicking here. Don’t forget to use the World Breastfeeding Week frame on Facebook to show your friends, family, and the world how important it is!

Breastfeeding my little girl has been a love/hate from the beginning. She has lip and tongue ties. *TMI* I have really small nipples, so I still have a hard time finding flanges that fit and work well for me. I’ve struggled with her clingy-ness and balancing my work and personal life. I went through a phase where I weighed her before and after every feeding because I was convinced she didn’t get enough. I clung to my local mom group for dear life. I donated gallons of milk to babies in need. The end of our breastfeeding journey may be very near, but ultimately, I don’t want this to end.

Without further ado-

A Poem for My breastfed Toddler

I can’t keep you small forever

but I can hold onto you just a little while longer

I can’t keep you from growing up

but I can help our bond grow stronger

I can’t help but want this to last

though I know our time is coming to an end

I can’t nurse you forever

but I’ll always be your mommy, and your friend

I hope you enjoyed my poem. It’s such a huge part of my life and heart. I’ve joined up with some of my favorite mom bloggers to bring you a WBW giveaway to celebrate. The winner will receive a Kiinde breast milk storage system, Evenflo breast milk bag adapters, 2 NursElets, 2 pro-breastfeeding baby tops, a & A.M. lunchbox/ bottle cooler, Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter, and a $25 Amazon Gift card! Wow!
